HTC 7 Pro

Windows Phone 7 has been with us since last October, in the first wave of phones arrived quickly with a trio of HTC, the HD7, HTC Mozart 7 and HTC 7 Trophy that bind to the Samsung Omnia 7 and LG Optimus 7

Since then, things have been a bit quiet in terms of hardware, with the Dell Venue Pro just the surface.

However, we anticipate the arrival of a software update Windows phone soon, and of course Nokia's recent announcement that Microsoft is joining forces with the front of the smartphone has turned heads.

We have a new piece of hardware to gawk too much, the HTC 7 Pro This is the first smartphone Windows 7 to have a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and as such, is an obvious candidate for the employer. But if well designed and stylish enough, could be a surprise hit consumers also like the old HTC TyTN II.

In fact, HTC 7 Pro is based on the TyTN II smart hinge design. Slide the QWERTY keyboard below the screen and a mechanism is activated automatically on the screen that rises a few degrees to sitting at an angle to see good in the hand and on the desk.

In the old TyTN II he had to tilt the screen manually, so the automatic inclination here is nice to see. The mechanism of the review unit was initially a little tacky, but quickly became soft and flexible, although a little shaky at times.

Size-wise, the HTC 7 Pro is not much of an animal given that packs a full keyboard. The total weight of 185 g is a bit strong, but the dimensions of 117.5 x 59 x 15.1mm are not so bad.

And the quality of construction generally, apart from the hinge sticky is good. There is a metal plate and solid plastic with a chrome elsewhere nice song to the screen.

Side buttons run to the camera button all Windows Phone 7 sports a volume control, micro USB port, and the top edge, a headphone jack of 3.5 mm.

And under the screen are three buttons found on all Windows Phone 7. There is a Home button, Back button and search button. These are all sensitive to the touch instead of physical buttons. It's nothing fancy, very utilitarian.

The specifications are standard - within the confines of the operating system '. Like all Windows Phone 7 we have seen to date, there is no microSD card slot for increasing internal storage. In this case, which runs from 8 GB storage capacity is exceeded by the 16 GB LG Optimus 7 and HTC HD7.

The five-megapixel camera has been overcome by an eight-megapixel shooter on the HTC Mozart 7. But there is a 1 GHz processor, Wi-Fi b, g and n support, GPS and Bing maps and HSDPA support 7. 2 Mbps and download speeds of 2 Mbps upstream.

The screen is not very big, but enough, with a 3.6-inch, 480 x 800 pixel capacitive offers. The HTC 7 Pro is very similar in specifications to the rest of your Windows Phone 7 brothers, but lifted by the presence of the keyboard.
